When Lilydale Instant Lawn implemented NetSuite as its core ERP in 2022, it needed a reliable way to turn sales orders into route ready delivery jobs inside Descartes OnDemand, without losing the operational rules that make turf delivery different from a standard parcel run: harvest availability, customer delivery windows, and pallet weights that change with rainfall.
The first integration used a general purpose platform. It transferred orders from NetSuite to OnDemand, but Lilydale’s business logic was difficult to configure or maintain. Each new rule or exception had to fit within the limits of a generic off-the-shelf tool, rather than a system built for route planning.
The previous integration approach demonstrated that a one-size-fits-all solution could connect the pieces, but it struggled to address specific areas of our unique workflows and requirements. A more tailored solution was needed to reflect our farm’s unique workflows, connect each stage of the process, and provide the flexibility and visibility needed to manage everything from end-to-end.

Lilydale needed an integration layer that could:
- Translate NetSuite sales orders into clean, route ready jobs in Descartes without manual work
- Encode Lilydale’s specific business rules, harvest constraints, delivery windows, and weight variability, directly into how orders are generated and enriched
- Be flexible enough to evolve as the business's order rules changed
- Keep NetSuite and OnDemand in sync in both directions, so completed deliveries flowed back for billing accurately
